What are your hours?

The Optical Shop is open Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 - 6:00. We are also open on Saturday from 9:00-2:00. We are closed Sunday and Monday.

Special appointments can be arranged outside of regular store hours. We also can arrange visits to homes, hospitals, extended care or assisted living facilities upon request.

Where are you located?

The Optical Shop is located in the Cricket West Shopping Center on the corner of Central Avenue and Densmore near Secor.

Where can I park?

The Optical Shop has free parking in front of the store.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We gladly accept all major credit cards including Visa, MasterCard and Discover. We also accept cash and checks.

Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not.

Do you have an Optometrist on staff?

No, we do not. However, we have excellent working relationships with many area eye-care specialists.

Do you offer Specialized or Special Needs Eyewear?

Yes we do. We can suggest and fit specialized eyewear suitable for a variety of occupational and recreational needs; including prescription sunglasses, sports goggles or underwater scuba gear, or even gas masks with integrated prescription lenses, that all allow the wearer to participate without the need to wear glasses. The Optical Shop provides exclusive consultation advice and service as well as ensuring the best and correct fit.

In addition, we are the exclusive source for GUNNAR Digital Performance Eyewear, designed for people who spend significant amounts of their day in front of digital monitors. Through research on how the eye interacts with digital devices, GUNNAR Eyewear has developed lens technology for its line of Digital Performance Eyewear that delivers a distinct visual advantage by working with and enhancing the properties of the human eye.

Do you have sales?

We have a dedicated area within the store that displays the current selection of marked down frames. Stop by often as the style and selections vary.

We also have an annual store wide sale early in the year. This month-long event allows us to offer substantial reductions on frames, which either are being phased out, or that need to be sold to make room for our new collections.

How can I be notified of markdowns, sales and other events?

Sign up for our email newsletter, join our mailing list, or check our website often for the latest news on markdowns, promotions, trunk shows and events.

What is your Return Policy?

We are happy to honor an in store credit. Returns and exchanges are accepted on merchandise in its original condition. All sale items are final sale.

Do you offer gift certificates?

Gift certificates are available for purchase in any denomination.

Do you ship?

We are happy to ship anywhere in the United States at your expense.

What is a Licensed Dispensing Optician?

Twenty-one states (including Ohio)require dispensing opticians to be licensed. States may require individuals to pass one or more of the following for licensure: a State practical examination, a State written examination, and certification examinations offered by the American Board of Opticianry (ABO) and the National Contact Lens Examiners (NCLE). To qualify for the examinations, states often require applicants to complete post-secondary training, or work as apprentices for 2 to 4 years.
